Aren't I a good lookin dude? My maw sure thinks I am. She loves to pet me, especially when I perch on furniture that she has to pass by and I reach out my paw to grab her. *kitty smirk*
I first remember meeting my maw when I was in the Animal Shelter as a very young fella. I had the rest of my litter mates with me but it was lonely. I like being held and petted and all's they wanted to do was play.
One day my maw came in. She was looking at all the cats. I tried to get her attention by being my usual adorable self. However, she wanted to see everyone and paid me little attention. I was awfully teeny in those days. She told the attendant she'd like to hold me for a minute but there was another cat in another cage that interested her more.
I knew I hadda be drastic if I wanted to go home with her, so I used my best and loudest purr and crawled up to her neck where I nuzzled, giving her a kitty-kiss. It was so comfy there, I actually fell asleep! (I was embarrassed by this). *kitty blush*
I musta done a pretty good job of it, though, cuz my maw told the lady she didn't need to see that other cat again. She was thrilled with me! *kitty grin*
I couldn't go with maw that day though. There was a mean man who wanted to hurt me first. And he did. He cut my, uhh, err, ahh...well, you know. However, shortly after I woke up, my maw was there to get me! I got to ride in her car. I didn't cry too much but she did talk to me the whole way home. That was quite comforting. *kitty purrs*
Life progressed very smoothly for me in my new home. I was adored by my maw and everyone else in the house. After all, I was just a small ball of pure black fur in those days. (Oh yeah, the name given me at the Animal Shelter was Voodoo and my maw kept that name for me.) I played it to the hilt getting spoiled. I had a trick my maw just swooned over. Everytime she sat down, I'd take a flying leap up to her chest where I'd nuzzle in her neck and she'd hold me like that for hours. This is how I taught her to scratch my tummy, which I am so fond of. When she would hold me right, I'd give her little kitty-kisses for encouragement. To this day we still play this game for all it's worth. *kitty grins*

As you can see, I have grown to be quite a looker these days. I pretty much call my own shots, too. I like to lay outside in the sun. I like to lay on the tiled floors (on hot days). Heck, I just plain like to lay around! And, at bedtime, I mostly like to lay on my maw. She accommodates me until she wants to roll over. Then I havta get a spot closeby to her. We are almost inseparable. *kitty sigh with looks of affection to maw*
I do enjoy fooling around and a good joke is always lots of fun. In any given day, I might follow this guideline:
Breakfast:
Have maw open a can of expensive gourmet cat food. Any flavor is o.k. as long as it cost more than .75 per can. Then I only let
her put a teeny bit in my dish, at which time I will take one bite and look around the room disdainfully.
I follow this act by pushing some of the food on the floor, then I stare at the wall for a few seconds before stalking in to the other room.
At Lunch:
Have four blades of grass and one lizard tail, then go to my food dish where I can get the really good stuff that I like.
For Afternoon Snack:
Catch a moth and play with it until it is almost dead. Eat one wing. Leave the rest to die.
For Dinner:
Steal one green bean from my maw's plate. Bat it around the floor until it goes under the refrigerator. Steal one small piece of chicken and eat half of it. Leave the other half on the sofa.
Have maw throw out the remaining gourmet cat food from the can she opened this morning.
Of course, this is all fun and games. I don't really do these things. ('cept for the moth thing that is.) *kitty smirk*
There is another kitty in my house. Her name is Missy. I would love to be her friend, but she doesn't like me. I think she used to rule the roost before I got here and now she's just plain jealous of my beauty and rugged good looks. *kitty laugh* She chases after me, hissing and trying to claw me. When maw sees her do that, maw yells at Missy (I, of course, always look innocent). *kitty smirk* Sometimes maw calls Missy "Snarly" because she is mean to me. *kitty sigh*
My most favorite trick is sneaking out at night. My maw leaves the door open, with the screen closed. I have learned how to slide the screen open enough so I can sneak out. If maw is not paying close attention, I can also sneak back in and once again appear innocent. *kitty giggles* Maw only knows if I've been out because I haven't learned how to close the screen behind me yet.
I have to go lay down again. This web stuff is tiring, ya know. I have to keep up with my kitty naps. *kitty grin* I will have my maw take more adorable pictures of my studly self and let her put them here for all of you to pine over.
See ya after my kitty nap.......
